Gladys Lillian Higgins
Gladys Lillian Higgins, 87, died Friday (July 6, 2012) in
Newton. She was born on July 20, 1924, to Edward and Emma (Stahl) Kliewer. She
married Paul E. Higgins on June 29, 1941, in Newton. She was a past member of
The First United Methodist Church, American Legion Auxiliary and was a sponsor
of the American Legion Drum and Bugle Corp. of Hutchinson. She was preceded in
death by her husband, Paul E. Higgins; her parents; one sister, Erma Nuss; and
one brother, Roland Kliewer.
She is survived by a daughter, Janice (Leonard) Kliment; a
son, Barry Higgins of Omaha, Neb.; a sister, Iris (Forrest) Miller of Orem,
Utah; three grandchildren, Molly (Kliment) Jenkins, Mandy (Kliment) Lortz and
Jamie (Higgins) Jones, all of Omaha, Neb.; and seven great-grandchildren, all
of Omaha.
Graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Greenwood
Cemetery of Newton.
