Sage F. Sutherland
Sage F. Sutherland, 21, of Newton, died on Tuesday (July 17,
2012) at the K.U. Medical Center in Kansas City. She was born on July 24, 1990,
in Newton, the daughter of Michael and Jody Fields Sutherland. Sage was raised
and attended schools in Newton, where she played in the school band. For
several years, Sage played the trumpet in Lidio G. Jaso's mariachi band. Sage
had been a Mary Kay consultant for a few years. She was a very artistic young
lady and had a contagious laughter.
Sage put up a courageous fight, and her will to survive was
an inspiration to all around her.
She is survived by her husband, Jordon Christian Fayette and
daughter, Olivia Annette Fayette of the home; parents, Mike and Jody Sutherland
of Newton; sisters, Amanda Sutherland and Larissa Sutherland of Newton, and
Marissa Sutherland of Wichita; and her grandmother, Cecilia Contreras of
Newton.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Jean Louise
Spiel man Sutherland, Alfred Fields, and Hope and Lydia Jaso.
Funeral services will be at 4 p.m. Saturday (July 21, 2012)
at Broadway Colonial Funeral Home in Newton. Friends may call at the funeral
home from 9 a.m. until service time Saturday.
A memorial has been established with the American Cancer
Hope Lodge in Kansas City and the Leukemia Research Center of K.U. Medical
Center.
