Obituary: Una May Thibodeau (Dillman)
MANCHESTER, Conn. — A much-loved wife, mother, grandmother,
sister and kind friend, Una May Thibodeau (Dillman), 76, of Bolton and
Manchester, Conn., and formerly of Newton, passed away on Monday (June 25,
2012) at home.
Una was born on Dec. 29, 1935, in Newton.
She loved visiting friends, spending time with her
grandsons, attending church, traveling, cooking and collecting recipes.
Una was a retired sign language interpreter for the State of
Connecticut and was very connected to the deaf community. She was a
long-standing member of the Manchester Church of the Nazarene.
She is survived by four children: son, Leon Thibodeau and
wife, Chris of Meriden, Conn.; daughter, Cindy Smith and husband, Frank of
Bolton; daughter, Peggy Szurgot and husband, Sonny of Dillsburg, Pa.; daughter,
Nancy Thibodeau of Manchester; and four grandchildren, Greg Pisch and wife,
Serena of Mechanicsburg, Pa., Justin Szurgot of Mechanicsburg, Pa., Frank Smith
Jr. of Texas, and Connor Smith of Bolton.
She also is survived by three sisters, Diane Kuhn, Shirley
Brown and Tracy Duffman of Newton; and multiple nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Herbert A.
Thibodeau; mother, Anna May; father, Roy; and sister, Betty Boose.
Her family would like to especially thank Jill Palozie for
helping to make Mom’s last years more enjoyable.
A celebration of her life will be Friday (June 29, 2012) at
the Manchester Church of the Nazarene, 218 Main St., Manchester, CT 06042.
