R. Rolan Shilts
NEWTON — R. Rolan “Buck” Shilts, 61, died Saturday (June 16,
2012) at Schowalter Villa, Hesston.
He was born August 5, 1950 in Wichita to J. Richard and
Vivian A. Stunkel Shilts. He was as educator, coach and farmer. He married
Carla A. Wedel November 22, 1972 at Moundridge. Survivors include his wife,
Carla, Moundridge; sons, R. Lucas Shilts, Greeley, Colorado, Samuel Shilts,
Platte City, Missouri; daughter, Anna (Justin) Beyer, Burlington, Kansas;
sisters, Linda (Dean) Shilts-Baum, Howard, Kansas, Kelly (Mark) Calvin, Garden
City, Kansas; four grandchildren. Funeral service will be Thursday at 10 a.m.
at the Eden Mennonite Church, rural Moundridge.
Visitation will be Wednesday at the Moundridge Funeral Home
from 3 until 8 p.m. with family present at 6 p.m. for a time of sharing and
reminiscing.
Burial will be in the church cemetery. Memorial donations
are suggested to American Cancer Society-Melanoma Research Foundation, in care
of the funeral home.
