Obituary: John C. Edwards
WHITEWATER — John C. Edwards, 72, passed away at his
residence, June 6, 2012, surrounded by his family.
He was born February 3, 1940, in Newton. He was the son of
Orlan and Blanche Root Edwards. On September 2, 1961, he was united in marriage
to Sherry K. Strasser.
He had worked at the Whitewater Flour Mill for many years,
and retired from NuStar Energy of Wichita. He had been active in the Federated
Church, the Kansas Trapshooting Association, the Oklahoma Game Breeder’s of
America, and was fondly known as Remington High School’s #1 Fan.
He is lovingly survived by his wife Sherry, his daughter
Robin, and a sister Nancy Tallman and her husband Roger all of Whitewater.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, at Lamb
Funeral Home. Funeral service will be
held at 2 p.m. on Monday, June 11, 2012, at Remington Middle School Gymnasium
in Whitewater. Interment will be in the Whitewater Cemetery.
Memorial funds have been established for the John Edwards
Memorial Scholarship Fund or the Kid and Calf Program in care of Lamb Funeral
Home, 120 S. Main, Whitewater, KS 67154.
