Obituary: Matthew Lee Gresham
WICHITA — Matthew Lee Gresham, 37, passed away on Monday
(June 4, 2012) at his home in Wichita.
He was born on Feb. 9, 1975, in Newton, the son of Linda F.
Kliewer and Patrick L. Gresham.
Matthew served eight years in the U.S. Navy and then went on
to receive his associate’s degree and vocational training. He worked as a
civilian electrician contractor at McConnell Air Force Base.
He is survived by his mother, Linda F. Kliewer of Sedgwick;
father, Patrick L. Gresham of Andover; his girlfriend, Jessica Smith of
Wichita; a brother, Emmett Gresham of Sedgwick; and two sisters, Ashley Zorn
(Edison) of Bentley and Andrea Gartman (Josh) of Kansas City, Mo.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Nathan Joel Gresham;
his grandfather, Keith Burdine; and his grandparents, Chester and Helen
Gresham.
Visitation is scheduled from 1 to 9 p.m. Thursday (June 7,
2012) at Petersen Funeral Home in Newton, with the family present from 6 to 8
p.m.
There will be a funeral service at 10:30 a.m. Friday (June
8, 2012) at Petersen Funeral Home Chapel in Newton. Graveside services will
follow at Hillside Cemetery in Sedgwick.
A memorial has been established at Emprise Bank in Matthew’s
name in care of the funeral home.
