Obituary
WICHITA — Jerry G. Bryant, 75, died on Monday (June 4, 2012)
at Via Christi St. Francis in Wichita.
He was born on Jan. 21, 1937, in Walnut Ridge, Ark., to Jess
and Celia (Hutsel) Bryant. On May 29, 1958, he married Virginia in Wichita, and
she preceded him in death in August 2000.
Jerry was a pastor for the Wichita Church of God of the
Firstborn, being ordained in 1988. He also was a vice president for his
denomination. In addition to his church duties, which he loved, Jerry worked at
the City of Wichita Parks Department and C.W. Feed Company as a truck driver.
He enjoyed his family and friends, playing the guitar, and going to garage and
estate sales.
Jerry is survived by his son, Jerry Bryant Jr. of Wichita;
daughters, Julie Bryant of Phoenix and Bonnie Campbell of Denver; sister, Patsy
Massey of Sacramento, Calif.; five grandchildren; and three
great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; six sisters; and
one infant brother.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday (June 9, 2012)
at Church of God of the Firstborn in Newton, with Pastor William Meyer and
Evangelist Thomas Peter Etterman presiding.
Graveside committal service will be in the Church of God of
the Firstborn Cemetery in rural Newton.
Memorials are suggested to the Church of God of the First
Born, in care of Petersen Funeral Home of Newton.
