Charles Milton Dunbar
Burlington -- Charles Milton Dunbar, 58, Burlington, died at
his home on Wednesday evening (May 9, 2012). Charles was born on Jan. 14, 1954,
in Sedan to Bert and Fern Harris Dunbar. He graduated from Newton High School
and entered the U.S. Navy on July 20, 1973, and was discharged on Jan. 29,
1979. While in the Navy, he was stationed at the Naval Nuclear Power Training
Unit in Idaho Falls, Idaho. After his discharge, he began working at the Wolf
Creek Nuclear Power Plant as an instructor.
Chuck was married to Deborah Blacketer Cole on Dec. 9, 2000.
He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Burlington.
Chuck is survived by his wife, Deborah Dunbar of the home; a
son, Jim Cole and his wife, Janna of Gridley; four daughters, Cindy Dahlberg of
Tucson, Ariz., Stacy Cole and Amber Dunbar, both of Burlington, and Bethany
Dunbar of Emporia; his mother-in-law, Dorothy Blacketer of Burlington; two
sisters, Judy Rowland and her husband, Charles M. of West Plains, Mo., and
Betty Husky of Portland, Ore.; 17 grandchildren; and other relatives and
friends.
Chuck was cremated. Memorial services will be at 10:30 a.m.
Tuesday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Burlington. Contributions may be made to
the American Cancer Society or the Trinity Lutheran Church.
