Obituary

WHITEWATER — G’Ola R. Spratt, 83, passed away April 19, 2012, at Newton Medical Center.

She was born July 11, 1928, in Whitewater, the daughter of Carl and Alice Atkinson Hindman. She was a retired Postmaster. 

On February 16, 1947, she was united in marriage to Irvin Spratt; he preceded her in death on July 30, 1999. She had been very active in the Order of Eastern Star in Whitewater, holding various local and district offices. She was an avid sports fan, enjoyed working on her lawn, and quilted. She was an active member of the Federated Church, and served as the chairman of stewardship committee. She had also served on the Whitewater Cemetery Board.

She is lovingly survived by her brother Carl Hindman of Wichita; sister Connie Atkinson of New York City, NY; sister-in-law Lois Ballance of El Dorado; brother-in-law Jack Spratt of Whitewater; and a host of other relatives and many friends. 

Funeral Service: 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 24, 2012, at the Federated Church, Whitewater. Visitation: 6 - 8 p.m., Monday at Lamb Funeral Home. Interment in the Whitewater Cemetery. 

Memorial Fund: Federated Church in care of Lamb Funeral Home, 120 S. Main, Whitewater, KS 67154.
