Obituary
Marilyn Joyce Schrag, 79, died
Wednesday (Feb. 22, 2017) at Schowalter Villa, Hesston, after a long
struggle with Huntington's Disease. She was born Oct. 18, 1937, in
Dodge City, the daughter of Edward and Alma Harms Enns. She was a
graduate of Gridley High School and had been a legal secretary and
musician, playing the piano, organ and marimba. She was a current
member of Whitestone Mennonite Church and had served in ministry at
First Baptist Church, Hutchinson, First Baptist Church, Canton, Ohio,
Walnut Hills Baptist Church, Cincinnati, Ohio, First Baptist Church,
Salem, Ohio, Platte Woods Church, Kansas City, Missouri and
Duncanville Baptist Church, Duncanville, Texas.
She married Elwyn LaVerne Schrag on
July 28, 1956, in Hooker, Oklahoma. He survives.
Other survivors include two sons, Brian
(Barbara) Schrag of Dallas, Texas and Brad (Joy) Schrag of
Minneapolis, Minnesota; two daughters, Lynelle (Bob) Morris of
Tucson, Arizona and Lori (Andrés) Tapia of Highland Park, Illinois;
a sister, Marge Hamm, Hooker, Oklahoma; and eight grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her
parents.
Cremation is planned. Memorial services
will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday (Feb. 25, 2017) at Whitestone
Mennonite Church. Inurnment will be held at 3:30 p.m. Sunday (Feb.
26, 2017) at First Mennonite Church Cemetery, Pretty Prairie.
Memorials may be made to the Huntington's Disease Society of America,
in care of Miller-Ott Funeral Home, Hesston.
