Christopher "Chris" L.
Motter, 41, passed away on Thursday (Feb. 23, 2017) at Susan B. Allen
Memorial Hospital in El Dorado, surrounded by his family.
Chris's life began on Aug. 11, 1975, in
Newton. He was the son of Leland and Halicia (Starks) Motter. Chris
attended both Labette and Butler County Community colleges.
He was an electrician by trade, last
working for Decker Electric. Chris was an avid Harley Davidson rider
and enjoyed being on the water at Harvey County East Lake where he
really enjoyed his jet boat.
He was a supportive father to his three
children: Dacota, Garett and Chyanne. Chris actively followed his
children's sporting events-whether it was swimming, cheerleading or
wrestling, he was there. He followed son Dacota's journey through
regional wrestling finals this year and was certainly with him in
spirit as Dacota won the state finals after Chris passed away.
Chris's greatest joy was his supportive
family, including his parents Leland and Halicia of Whitewater;
children Dacota, Garett and Chyanne Motter, all of El Dorado;
siblings Crystal (Chad) Young of El Dorado, Cory (Kristy) Motter of
El Dorado and Cameron (Demi) Motter of Whitewater; and nieces and
nephews Dillon, Tori, Brooklyn, Trinity, Kegan, Kinsley and Beau. He
was preceded in death by his grandparents Frank and Faye Motter, and
Burley, Marguerite and Mae Starks.
Chris's family will gather with friends
on Wednesday (March 1, 2017) from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Carlson Funeral
Home. His funeral service will be held on Thursday (March 2, 2017) at
2 p.m. at the Whitewater Community Church. Chris will be laid to rest
in the Whitewater Cemetery.
