Obituary

Brenda Jernberg, 82, passed away Tuesday (Feb. 28, 2017) at Homestead of Halstead. She was born Oct. 12, 1934, in Columbus, Ohio, to Cleome and Lucille Burns.

She was a graduate of Greeley High School in Greeley, Colorado, class of '52. Brenda was a longtime resident of Wheat Ridge, Colorado, where she and her husband Nathan raised their two sons. She was a member of the United Methodist Church, where she was active with Circle, Choir, Sunday School and the food bank.

She loved to sew and made many of her own clothes, as well as special gifts for family and friends and warm hats for the homeless. Brenda was a retiree from Auraria Book Center. She moved to Halstead in February 2016 to be closer to family.

She is survived by her sons, Dale (Joy) Jernberg, Burrton, and Jeff (Jannea) Jernberg, Katy, Texas; four grandchildren, Erin (Lish) Leonard, Mulvane, Nick (Becca) Jernberg, Katy, Texas, Josh (Jess) Jernberg, Lakewood, Colorado, and Jennifer (Phil) Gibson, Waco, Texas; along with nine great-grandchildren.

She will be laid to rest next to her husband in Wheat Ridge, Colorado.
