Obituary
NEWTON — Rosa Lee Strawderman, 78, of Newton, died on
Saturday (March 24, 2012) at her home.
She was born on May 31, 1933, in McPherson, the daughter of
Joseph and Lena Bell Stewart Kail. She was raised in McPherson, moving with her
family to El Dorado while in junior high school.
Rosa Lee moved to Newton in 1962. She married James Leonard
Strawderman that same year in Oklahoma, returning to Newton to live. They
enjoyed being part of the Tuesday Morning Bowling League at Eastgate Bowl for
many years.
Survivors include her son, James Keys of San Francisco, Calif.;
daughter, Jeri Mosiman of Lawton, Okla.; and two grandchildren, Nick Mosiman of
Newton and Callie Stephens of Overland Park.
Rosa Lee was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jim
on Nov. 1, 1995; brothers, Billy Joe Kail and James Robert Kail; and sister,
Dorothy Ann Barr.
At Mrs. Strawderman’s request, no services will be conducted
as cremation has been effected.
A memorial has been established with the Newton Public
