Melvin L. Dirks
Obituary
MOUNDRIDGE — Melvin L. Dirks, 87, died on Friday (March 16,
2012).
He was born on Aug. 1, 1924, the son of Isaac and Rachel
(Koehn) Dirks. He was a member of Morning Star Church of God in Christ,
Mennonite. He was a retired electrician of Hesston Corp.
On Sept. 12, 1948, he married Vera Koehn in Tampa. She
survives. Other survivors include: sons, Bruce Dirks (Cheryl) of Tampa and Brad
Dirks (Joyce) of Canton; daughters, Charlene Becker of Galva and Donnalee
Johnson (Gavin) of Gruver, Texas; 15 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by daughter, Judith Dirks;
son-in-law, Howard Becker; one granddaughter, Heidi Dirks; four brothers, Jake,
Tobias, Gust and Irvin Dirks; and sisters, Hannah Koehn (Dan), Mary Unruh
(Joe), Leona Koehn (William), Martha Unruh (Dayton) and Irene Rhodes (Dale).
There was a funeral service
Monday at Morning Star Church in Tampa.
