Hazel M. Milne
Obituary
Hazel M. Milne, 93, died Friday, March
3, 2017, at her home in Hastings, Forida.
She was born Feb. 8, 1924, in Wichita,
to Ray Stanley and Hazel Phoebe (Fry) Arrowsmith.
She was a graphic artist and typesetter
for her family's business, Black's Coldtype. In her later years, she
was a contributing columnist for the Halstead Independent.
She was a member of Plymouth
Congregational Church in Sedgwick.
On March 14, 1942, she married Duane D.
Black in Bentley. He preceded her in death on Feb. 13, 1992.
She then married Walter L. Milne on
Sept. 2, 2000, in Sedgwick. He preceded her in death on Jan. 24,
2015.
Survivors include a son, Leo Black of
Junction City, Oregon; a daughter, Betty Morris of Hastings, Florida;
a sister, Helen Tinkham of Las Vegas; five grandchildren; 10
step-grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and four
step-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by brothers:
Max, Donovan, Richard and Stanley Arrowsmith; and a sister, Elizabeth
Learned.
A committal service will be at 10 a.m.
Thursday (March 16, 2017) at Pleasant Valley Cemetery in Bentley.
A memorial service will follow at 11
a.m. at Plymouth Congregational Church in Sedgwick, with Pastor Craig
Reynolds officiating.
Memorials may be given to Plymouth
Congregational Church, in care of Kaufman Funeral Home in Halstead.
