Charles W. LaCoss
Obituary
Charles W. LaCoss, 81, died on Thursday (Feb. 2, 2012)
surrounded by his loving family at his Newton residence.
He was born on Oct. 10, 1930, in Light, Ark., to Clarence
and Christine (Legg) LaCoss. On July 23, 1952, he married Katherine Cagle in
Tunica, Miss., and she survives of the home.
Charlie served his country as a sergeant during the Korean
conflict. He was a retired salesman for Excel Industries in Hesston, retiring
in 1997. Charlie enjoyed woodworking and working on his home and yard. He also
enjoyed spending time fishing. Family was very important to Charlie, and he
greatly looked forward to spending time with his loving family and friends and
especially his grandchildren.
Charlie is survived by his wife, Katherine of the home; son,
Mark and his wife, Sheila LaCoss of Newton; and daughters, Brenda and her
husband, Rollin Schmidt of Goessel, and Linda and her husband, Frank Stevens of
Newton. He has one sister, Dovie Lowery of Kansas City, Mo. There are seven
grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Charlie was preceded in death by his parents; and one
grandson, Jonathan Kasper.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Monday at Petersen
Funeral Home in Newton, with the family receiving friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m.
at the funeral home.
Graveside committal service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at
Greenwood Cemetery in Newton. Military honors will be provided by the soldiers
of Fort Riley.

care of Petersen Funeral Home.
