Karla J. Lewis
ARLINGTON, Texas -- Karla J. Lewis, 39,
of Arlington, Texas, died Tuesday (May 9, 2000) at Methodist Medical
Center in Dallas. She was a 1985 graduate of Bethel College in North
Newton. She was born Aug. 17, 1960, in Salina to Willard E. and
Delores Jean (Kasper) Schmidt. She married Donald E. Lewis Aug. 7,
1982, in Lehigh. He survives of Arlington. She was a member of Grace
Vineyard Christian Fellowship in Arlington. She was active member of
LaLeche league and MOMS Club of the church.
She worked for three years has [as] a
registered nurse for Axtell Christian Hospital in Newton, two years
for Omnicare Home Health in Desoto, Texas, and 10 years at Charlton
Methodist Hospital in Dallas.
She enjoyed reading, cooking and
gardening.
Other survivors include: her father,
Willard E. Schmidt of Moundridge; mother, Delores Jean Schmidt of
Lehigh; two sons, Caleb Lewis and Sean Lewis, both of Arlingon,
Texas; one brother, Kelvin Schmidt of Assaria; two sisters, Marilyn
Brumley and Karen Christensen, both of McPherson; and grandmother,
Ruby Kasper of Newton.
Funeral services will be 10 a. m.
Saturday at First Christian Church in Newton with the Rev. MyCherie
Zimmerman officiating. Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery in
Newton.
There will be no visitations.

Leukemia Society of America in care of Petersen Funeral Home.
