Obituary
WEST SALEM, Ohio — Susan Ilene Berry, 45, of West Salem,
Ohio, passed away surrounded by family, friends and loved ones on Monday (Feb.
27, 2012) at the Cleveland Clinic. Heaven got a little brighter when Susan went
home to walk with the Lord after a courageous three-year battle with cancer.
She was born on Oct. 5, 1966, in Kansas City, the adopted
daughter of Milferd Leland and Marilyn Eve Flaming Schmidt.
Susan was a 1985 graduate of Goessel High School in Goessel,
and a 1987 graduate of Hesston College. She was employed by her second family
at United Titanium in Wooster. She attended the Mohican Church of the Brethren
and was an associate member of Alexanderwohl Mennonite Church in Goessel, which
she grew up in.
Susan enjoyed gardening, tending to her flower beds,
arranging flowers, cooking, and spending time with family, especially the kids.
She was proud of her children and had an overwhelming love for them. The
highlight of every year was the Wayne Co. Fair.
She married Bruce Berry on May 9, 1992, who survives, and by
her parents of Canton; a son, Zachary Berry; a daughter, Jadeyn Berry;
brothers, Loren Schmidt of Canton and Jason Davis of El Dorado Springs, Mo.;
and a sister, Anne Burch of Goessel.
Friends will be received at the McIntire, Bradham &
Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St. in Wooster, Ohio, from 5 to 8 p.m.
Thursday.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Mohican Church of the
Brethren, 7759 N. Elyria Road, West Salem, Ohio, with Pastor Paul Bartholomew
officiating. Burial will follow in the Mohican Church Cemetery.
