Travis Kemph
Obituary
Travis Kemph, 29, died on Thursday (Dec. 29, 2011) at
Stormont Vail Hospital in Topeka. Travis was born on Jan. 7, 1982, to Stan and
Maryann (Kasha) Kemph of Newton. Travis grew up in Newton and attended Newton
schools, graduating in 2000 from Newton High School. Travis attended Kansas
State University (KSU) and will receive an honorary degree from KSU. He enjoyed
fishing, camping, hosting barbeques with friends and being a fantastic father
to Xavier. He was deeply loved by many people and all who knew him said he
would light up a room with his smile and amazing personality. Travis was always
there for his parents with his hard work and support. He truly was one of a kind and he will be
missed terribly.
Travis is survived by his parents, Stan and Maryann Kemph;
fiancée, Christina Reyes and her son, Xavier Martin; brothers, Joshua Kemph of
Mission, and Bryce and wife, Ruby Kemph of Fayetteville, Ark.; and sister,
Jenna Kemph of Newton.
At 6 p.m. today, a Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be at
the Petersen Funeral Home Chapel in Newton. Mass of the Resurrection will be at
10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. A graveside committal
service will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery following the service. The Rev. Jim
Mainzer will preside.
