Roberta Ann Winter, 50, died on Monday (Jan. 9, 2012) in an automobile accident on U.S. Highway 50 near Walton. She was a cashier for Wal-Mart in Newton for the past five years and worked at McDonalds in Hillsboro prior to that. She was born on Nov. 25, 1961, in Goessel, the daughter of Ivan and Bernice Winter and was a lifetime resident of Marion County. She is survived by two sisters, Denice Jones of Frisco, Texas, and Neletha Cerutti of Vienna, Va.; three stepbrothers, J. Barry Nelson of McPherson, Kent Nelson of Lawrence and Dwight Nelson of Marion; her stepmother, Lois Winter of Florence; and five nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation with family will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Zeiner Funeral Home, 205 Elm St. in Marion. There will be a memorial service at 11 a.m. Saturday at Aulne United Methodist Church in rural Marion. Inurnment will follow at Ebenfeld Cemetery in rural Hillsboro.

A memorial has been established with Aulne United Methodist Church.
