Anna Fern Lakin, 85, passed away Sunday (July 20, 2008) at her home in Salina.
She was born Feb. 9, 1923, in Moundridge, the daughter of John F. and Kate (Gerbrand) Regier.
She was a longtime Salina resident, a member of the Bethel College Mennonite Church in North Newton, and a graduate of Moundridge High School, Bethel College and Wichita State University with a master's degree in vocal music.
She married Everett D. Lakin on Sept. 12, 1944, in Moundridge. He survives of Salina.
Other survivors include sons, Larry Lakin of Salina and Ned Lakin of Wichita; brother, John Warren Regier of Moundridge; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Sherry Regier; a brother, Wilbur Regier; three sisters, Evelyn Habegger, Ruth Geist and Gertrude Harrel; and a grandson, Nathan Regier.
Cremation has taken place.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at West Zion Mennonite Church in Moundridge.
