Mullett, John Thomas 'Tom'

John Thomas 'Tom' MullettJohn Thomas "Tom" Mullett, 64, died on March 8, 2011, at his residence in Newton. Tom was born on Feb. 20, 1947, at the Buffalo, N.Y. Children's Hospital to John and Suzanna (Walbridge) Mullett. He moved to Newton in 1970 and graduated from Wichita State University in 1977 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in sociology and psychology and then worked in Wichita and Newton. He was a fine arts painter and sold his work in local galleries. He will be missed. Tom is survived by his sister, Barbara and Bob Victor of Portsmouth, R.I., and brother, Peter Mullett of Buffalo, N.Y. His parents preceded him in death. A gathering of remembrance for friends to greet and share memories of Tom will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Petersen Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice Care of Kansas in care of Petersen Funeral Home, 215 N. Main St., Newton, KS 67114.
