Mary Jane Stanley
Obituary
Mary Jane Stanley, 96, died on Thursday (Jan. 19, 2012) at
Asbury Park in Newton. She was born on Sept. 7, 1915, in Lewis to Fred and
Elsie (King) Kennedy. She was a longtime Sedgwick resident prior to moving to
Asbury Park. She was a homemaker and worked for Coombs Poultry Farm, Sedgwick
Healthcare Center and Halstead Nursing Center. On Feb. 3, 1941, she married
Owen Vincent Stanley in Kinsley. He preceded her in death on Dec. 2, 1979.
Survivors include sons, Larry (Fran) Stanley of Richland, Wash., Alvin (Linda)
Stanley of Corpus Christi, Texas, and Terry Stanley of Wichita; brother, Merle
(Lois) Kennedy of Pratt; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Vincent Stanley; grandson,
Josh Stanley; brothers, Ray, Clay, Eddie, Glenn and Melvin Kennedy; and
sisters, Ermina Kennedy, Eva Hildaubran, Veneda Newsom and Valeria Smith.
Friends may call from from 3 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Kaufman
Funeral Home in Halstead.
Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Kaufman
Funeral Home in Halstead, with the Rev. Traci Bennett officiating.
Burial will follow at 2 p.m. at Haviland Cemetery in
Haviland.
Memorials may be given to Asbury Park, in care of Kaufman
Funeral Home of Halstead.
