Obituary
HESSTON — Kathryn Bitikofer, 88, passed away on Saturday
(Jan. 28, 2012) at Schowalter Villa in Hesston.
She was born on Jan. 13, 1924, in Inman, the daughter of
John H. and Sara Regier Neufeld. She was a graduate of Inman High School and
Bethel College, where she earned her teacher’s certification. She taught for
two years at Emma Valley Grade School, and then was a seamstress for many years
at Hesston Decorating.
On Dec. 16, 1947, she married Ralph Owen Bitikofer at Bethel
Mennonite Church in Inman. He survives.
She was a member of Hesston Mennonite Brethren Church in
Hesston.
She is survived by sons, Lyle (Jan) of Garden City and
Lauren (Kathy) of Longview, Texas; sister, Ella Mae (Albert) Balzer of Inman;
grandchildren, Jeff Bitikofer, Elizabeth (Leif) Wickland, Robert Bitikofer and
Steven Bitikofer; and one great-granddaughter, Eliana Wickland.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Hesston
MB Church in Hesston, with Pastor Brad Burkholder and Chaplain Wendy Miller
officiating. Burial will follow the service at the Spring Valley Mennonite
Church Cemetery in rural Canton.
Visitation with family present will be from 5 to 7 p.m.
today at the Schowalter Villa Chapel in Hesston, and one hour prior to the
funeral service on Wednesday at the church.
