Paul L. Diringer

Paul L. Diringer, 86, passed away Thursday (Feb. 28, 2008) at Asbury Park in Newton. 

He was born Feb. 2, 1922, in Mulvane to George F. and Olivia K. (Hindman) Diringer. 

On March 22, 1945, he married Clara Behne in Bethesda, Md. She survives of Newton. 

Paul was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Newton. 

Paul served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He fought in both the North Atlantic and the South Pacific. He was a member of the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars, both of Newton. 

He retired from Hesston Corp. as a tool designer after 27 years of service. 

Paul looked forward to spending time with his loving family and many friends. 

Other survivors include daughter, Linda (Diringer) Guhr of Newton; son, Paul Diringer of Newton; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Phillip Diringer; and sister, Katheryn Shepherd. 

Visitation will be from 1 to 9 p.m. Monday at Petersen Funeral Home in Newton. 

Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be at 6:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. The family will greet friends following the Rosary. 

Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary's, with the Rev. Jim Mainzer of the church officiating. 

Burial will be at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Newton. 

Memorials may be made to the church or the American Heart Association in care of the funeral home.
