Obituary: Alberta HullAlberta Hull, 80, died on Sunday (April 24, 2011) at her daughter's home in Gardner. She was born on Dec. 28, 1930, in Newton to Albert John and Alma Frances (Lymon) Clelland. In October 1949, she married Paul Pryor in Newton, and he preceded her in death in July 1965. She later married Dan Hull in June 1972 in Stafford, and he also preceded her in death. Alberta was a program technician for the Kansas Social and Rehabilitation Services for 19 years. She was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary and the American Legion Auxiliary, both of Newton. Family was very important to Alberta, and she greatly looked forward to spending time with her loving family and many friends. She is survived by son, Thomas and his wife, Sherrie Pryor of Wichita; daughters, Frances and her husband, Russell Adams of Gardner, Paula and her husband, Ernesto Fernandez of Great Bend, and Cheryl and her husband, Robert Henkle of Great Bend; 14 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Alberta was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands; and sisters, Mary Neargard, Callista J. McClelland and Emma Jean Peak. She also was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Teresa Carter. Visitation will be from 1 to 9 p.m. today at Petersen Funeral Home Chapel in Newton. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be at 6 p.m. today, also at Petersen Funeral Home Chapel. Family will receive friends following the Rosary until 8 p.m. Mass of the Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Newton. The Rev. Jim Mainzer will preside. Memorials may be left with St. Luke's Hospice or St. Mary's Catholic Church, in care of Petersen Funeral Home.
