Obituary: Margery L. WohlgemuthMargery L. Wohlgemuth, age 92, died Thursday, May 5 at the Wheat State Manor at Whitewater. Margery was born January 3, 1919 in rural Butler County. She had lived most of her life in Butler County and was a retired school teacher. On April 23, 1941 she was married to Gordon Wohlgemuth and they farmed in Butler County. In addition to teaching Margery helped on the farm in the summers. Gordon passed away in 2002 and in 2003 Margery moved to Newton to the Kansas Christian Home. She was a member of the Palmyra Baptist Church north of Benton and had been active in the Order of the Eastern Star. She is survived by a son Jay of Benton and a grandchild Lindsey of Benton. The funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Monday at the Palmyra Baptist Church with Pastor Norman Tillotson officiating. Interment will be in the Green Valley Cemetery. There will be a visitation Sunday afternoon from 5-7 at Lamb Funeral Home at Whitewater. Memorials have been established with the Good Shepherd Hospice of Plane of Mercy, Midian Shrine.
