Kenneth E. Abel Sr., 70, died at his
home in Wichita on Sunday (April 9, 2017). He was born on June 11,
1946, to Artie Bell (Ferrell) and Eugene Clemon Abel in Lexington,
Mississippi. Kenneth was a member of the Trinity Baptist Church in
Stigler, Oklahoma.
Kenneth was self-employed as a painter
for many years. He loved to play pool and was very good at it. He was
also an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys. His other favorite pastimes
were fishing, teaching his nephews how to fish and listening to
music.
Preceding him in death were his
parents; and brothers, James Carl Abel, Riley Eugene Abel Sr. and
Joel Brent.
Survivors include son, Kenneth E. Abel
Jr., Wichita; daughter, Sabrina (Jay) Wassall, Wichita; sister,
Barbara Inman, St. Bonifacious, Minnesota; 10 grandchildren; seven
great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1
p.m. Thursday (April 13, 2017) at Broadway Colonial Funeral Home,
Newton. Funeral Services will begin at 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
Services will be led by Brother Tommy Parker of Stigler, Oklahoma.
Burial will follow at the Greenwood Cemetery, Newton.
