Obituary
Clayton H. Koehn, 90, died Friday
(April 21, 2017) at Pine Village in Moundridge.
He was born March 22, 1927, in
McPherson, to Simon Tobias and Elizabeth (Redger) Koehn.
During his working life, he was a
farmer and poultry producer. He retired from USD 440 as a custodian
at Halstead High School and later worked part-time as a clerk at
Troy's True Value in Halstead.
He was a resident of the Halstead area
since 1951, was a member of Grace Mennonite Church in Halstead and
served on the Mercy Hospital board of trustees for 20 years.
On June 1, 1952, he married Ada Buller
at Halstead. She survives.
Other survivors include sons, Ronald
(Rhona) Koehn, Darvin (Diane) Koehn and Jason (Melanie) Koehn, all of
Halstead; daughters, Kathy (Elwood) Smith of Texline, Texas,
Elizabeth (Charles) Koehn of Prairie, Mississippi, Karen Koehn,
Moundridge; 18 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a
granddaughter, Paula Schmidt; and three great-grandchildren.
A viewing for friends was from 2 to 4
p.m. on Monday (April 24, 2016) at Kaufman Funeral Home in Halstead.
Visitation with the family was from 6
to 8 p.m. Monday (April 24, 2016) and a funeral service will be at
10:30 a.m. Tuesday (April 25, 2016), both at Grace Mennonite Church
in Halstead.
Ministers Raleigh Koehn, Dean Becker
and Stanley Wiggers will officiate.
Burial will follow at Halstead
Cemetery.
Memorials may be given to Mercy
Hospital of Moundridge, in care of Kaufman Funeral Home, Halstead.
