Obituary

Herby Wenger, 104, passed away Wednesday (April 26, 2017) at Mercy Hospital in Moundridge. He was born Jan. 8, 1913, in McPherson County, the son of Conrad and Anna Becker Wenger.

He was a member of the Garden View Mennonite Church in Halstead. On April 12, 1936, he married Elva Yost in Hesston. She passed away on March 5, 2005.

He is survived by his children, Weldon (Lois) Wenger of Newton, Vernon (Carol) Wenger of Raleigh, North Carolina, Merle (Lena) Wenger of Newton, Donna (Jerry) Nickel of Jonesboro, Arkansas and Carolyn Wenger of Newton; two sisters, Ruby Smith, and Della Schmidt, both of Montezuma; 11 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday (April 29, 2017) at Moundridge Funeral Home, with family greeting friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Saturday (April 29, 2017) at Garden View Mennonite Church.

A funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Sunday (April 30, 2017) at Garden View Mennonite Church, with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
