Elva E. Wenger
NEWTON - Elva E. Wenger, 90, died March 5, 2005, at Mercy Hospital, Moundridge.
She was born March 31, 1914, at rural Moundridge, the daughter of Alphaeus L. and Frances Holdeman Yost. A lifetime area resident, she was a homemaker.
She belonged to Garden View Church of God in Christ, Mennonite, rural Halstead.
On April 12, 1936, she married Herby Wenger at Hesston. He survives.
Other survivors include: three sons, Weldon and Merle, both of Newton, and Vernon, Raleigh, N.C.; two daughters, Donna Nickel, Burns, and Carolyn Wenger, Newton; three brothers, Emery Yost, Hesston, Clayton Yost, Moundridge, and Lester Yost, Macon, Miss.; 11 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Floyd Yost; a sister, Letha Wenger; and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Garden View Church of God in Christ, Mennonite, with Ministers Eldon Wenger, Linford Holdeman and Larry Koehn presiding. Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. Tuesday at Moundridge Funeral Home and from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Garden View Church of God in Christ, Mennonite. Burial will be in Garden View Church Cemetery, rural Halstead.
