Obituary
Ruth W. Schmidt, 100, died May 11, 2017
at Kidron Bethel, North Newton.
She was born October 24, 1916, in
Marion County, the daughter of Abraham and Bertha Epp Banman. She was
a homemaker and worked in housekeeping for Bethesda Home for 22
years. She was a member of Goessel Mennonite Church. She married
Frank Wiens on April 14, 1961 in Goessel. He died December 1, 1962.
She married John Woelk on October 16, 1965 in Goessel. He died
September 1, 1988. She married Richard Schmidt on May 27, 1990 in
Goessel. He died May 19, 2000.
Survivors include a brother, Edgar
(Vinola) Banman, North Newton, a sister, Mae Frey, Newton, two
nephews, five nieces, numerous stepchildren, grandchildren and great
grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her
parents, her husbands and a brother, Earl Banman.
Cremation has taken place. Memorial
services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday (May 18, 2017) at Menno Hall at
Kidron Bethel Village, North Newton. Memorial contributions may be
made to the Benevolent Fund at Kidron Bethel, in care of Miller-Ott
Funeral Home, Goessel.
