Obituary

Sara Dirksen, 99, died Tuesday (May 16, 2017) at Bear Creek Care and Rehab in Morrison, Colorado. She was born Sept. 26, 1917, in DuBois, Idaho, to Henry and Justina (Goosen) Lehrman. She had lived in both Idaho and Canada before settling in Kansas in 1926.

On March 4, 1938, she married John Dirksen and he preceded her in death on May 5, 1971.

Sara was a member of the First Church of God

She is survived by two sons: Donald and his wife Nadja of Lakewood, Colorado, and John and his wife Debra of Silver City, New Mexico. She is also survived by a brother, Otto Lehrman of Westcliff, Colorado; and sister, Kathleen Crawford of Wichita. Sara also has three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren surviving.

Sara is preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers: Ralph, Walter and Carl Lehrman; and sister, Rubie Siemens.

Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Monday (May 22, 2017) at Petersen Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Donna Voteau presiding. Visitation will be 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday (May 21, 2017) at Petersen Funeral Home. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Newton.
