Obituary

Orville J. Milne, 89, died Wednesday (May 17, 2017) at Halstead Health and Rehabilitation, Halstead. He was born July 13, 1927, in Sedgwick to James W. and Anna Bertha Margareth (Paseman) Milne.

He was a WWII U.S. Navy veteran. Following his service, he returned to, and graduated from, Sedgwick High School.

He worked for Sedgwick Alfalfa Mill and as a custodian for Sedgwick schools. He was a member of Plymouth Congregational Church and Hicks-Davison American Legion Post 268, Sedgwick.

On Oct. 8, 1949, he married Margaret Jane Stamback in Sedgwick. She preceded him in death July 7, 2005.

He is survived by a brother, James (Karen) Milne, Edmond, Oklahoma; daughter-in law, Charlotte Milne, Halstead; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by his son, James Max Milne; daughter, Jane Ann Hill; brothers, Walt and Oren Milne; and sisters, Edith Armfield and Dorothy Senn.

The family will greet friends from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday (May 21, 2017) at Kaufman Funeral Home, Halstead,

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday (May 22, 2017) at Plymouth Congregational Church, Sedgwick, with Pastor Craig Reynolds officiating. Burial will follow at Hillside Cemetery, Sedgwick.

Memorials may be given to Plymouth Congregational Church in care of Kaufman Funeral Home, Halstead.
