Dolleen L. Fry
Obituary
Dolleen L. Fry, 84, of Rogers, Ark. (formerly of Newton),
died on Friday (June 3, 2011) at Mercy Medical Center in Rogers.
She was born on July 9, 1926, in Hesston to the late Alfred
and Alvertia (Werner) Holdman.
Dolleen graduated from Newton High School. She married
Charles F. Fry on Jan. 24, 1947. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and
worked for the Harvey County Treasurer's Office in Newton and belonged to the
Ruth Guild, Ladies Aid and Joanna Circle. She also was a member of the National
Association of Letter Carriers Auxiliary in Newton.
After she and Charly retired, they moved to Rogers, where
they were members of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church and worked for the Corps of
Engineers as gate attendants at many of the parks around Beaver Lake. She also
was a member of the Beaver Shores Women's Club and loved being on the lake and
having fun with her family and friends.
Survivors include three children, Cathy Couch of Rogers,
Charles Fry Jr. and wife, Debbie of Wellington, and Jane Cottle and husband,
Brooks of Parkersburg, W.Va.; seven grandchildren, Cary Hague and wife, Erin of
Lowell, Toby Hague and wife, Holly of Bella Vista, Tracie Clark and husband,
David of Wellington, Allison McLain and husband, Clifton of Wellington, Bill
Fry of Wellington, Erin Vilchez and husband, Ruben of St. Albans, W.Va., and
Evan Cottle of Parkersburg, W.Va.; two nephews, Steve Buller and wife, Connie
of Blair, Neb., and Gary Buller and wife, Judy of Hot Springs, Ark.; and seven
great-grandchildren and three more expected in the coming months.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; one
sister, Betty Buller of Newton; one son-in-law, Lynn Couch of Rogers; and one
great-grandson, Scott Fry of Wellington.
Services for Dolleen will be at 3 p.m. Friday at Holy
Trinity Lutheran Church in Rogers, with visitation the night before from 4 to 6
p.m. Thursday at Rollins Funeral Home Chapel in Rogers.
Memorials can be made in her name to the American Cancer
Society.
