Frances K. Seibel
Obituary
Frances K. Seibel, 84, retired nurse, died Friday (July 1,
2011) at Newton Medical Center. She was born on Dec. 27, 1926, in Pawnee County
to Frank C. and Edna (DeKalb) Brannan.
On Aug. 2, 1949, she married Emery G. Seibel in Wichita, and
he survives of the home.
Frances was a member of First United Methodist Church in
Newton and the Double Builder Sunday School class of the church.
She was a retired nurse from the former Axtell Christian
Hospital in Newton and St. Francis Hospital in Wichita.
Frances fought a battle with cancer for 18 years. She was a
one-of-a-kind lady and loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She
also was an excellent marksman.
She is survived by her husband Emery of Newton; sons Daniel
Seibel and Dana of rural Newton; Philip Seibel and Denise of Canton, Ga.;
daughters Katy and Bob Schrag of Moundridge; daughter Becky and Doug Edson of
Newton; and 14 grandchildren, six great- grandchildren and one great-grandchild
on the way. She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Winifred Newman
and Eleanor Umberger and an infant daughter Mary Ellen Seibel.
Visitation was from 1 to 5 Monday at Petersen Funeral Home
in Newton.
Funeral service was at 10 a.m. today at Petersen Funeral
Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.
Memorials may be left with the American Cancer Society or
the Double Builder Sunday School Class of First United Methodist Church in care
of Petersen Funeral Home.
