Obituary

Barbara J. Lehrman, 80, died on Monday (Aug. 8, 2011) at her Newton residence.

She was born on Dec. 6, 1930, in Marion County to Jonas and Clara (Hein) Mohn. On April 22, 1951, she married Ralph Lehrman, and he preceded her in death in 1993.

Barbara worked as a clerk for the Dillons grocery store. She formerly attended First Church of God in Newton and was currently attending First Christian Church in Newton. She was an active member of the Kansas Christian Home Campus, where she made many friends and enjoyed the activities.

Barbara looked forward to spending time with her son and daughter-in-law and many other relatives and friends.

She is survived by her son, Richard and his wife, Marcia Lehrman, of Manhattan; sister, Leona Lehrman of Hesston; brother, Ernest Mohn of Kansas City; two grandsons, Christopher and Kristi Lehrman of Wichita, and Matthew and Kara Lehrman of Gladstone, Mo.; and granddaughter, Rebekah and James Stowe of Columbia, Mo. She also has four great-grandchildren.

Barbara was preceded in death by her husband; parents; and one brother, Ervin Mohn.

Visitation will be from 1 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Petersen Funeral Home in Newton, with the family receiving friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m.

Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at First Christian Church in Newton. The Rev. Gary Bell will preside. A private burial will take place in Greenwood Cemetery in Newton.

Memorials may be left with Kansas Christian Home Fellowship of John fund, in care of Petersen Funeral Home.
