Obituary
Martha Laura Doerksen died on Monday (Aug. 15, 2011) at
Kidron Bethel Health Center in North Newton. She celebrated her 90th birthday
on Jan. 6, 2011.
She was born on Jan. 6, 1921, in Inman, the youngest
daughter of Peter and Helen (Buller) Abrahams. She was a lifetime resident of
Inman, except for the last 20 years of her life when she lived at Kidron Bethel
Village in North Newton.
She was a longtime member of Inman Mennonite Church.
On June 10, 1941, she married Henry (Hank) Doerksen, who
preceded her in death on Oct. 11, 1988.
She is survived by her children, Chris and Karen Buller of
Newton, and Bob and Kathy Pankratz of Homer, Alaska; and a sister, Dora
Thiessen of Inman.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister,
Gladys Epp.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Petersen
Funeral Home in Newton.
A family graveside service will be at 9:30 a.m. Friday at
the North Inman Cemetery. A memorial service will follow at 11 a.m. in Menno
Hall, Kidron Bethel Village.
Martha loved to read. In her memory, a memorial may be given
to the Large Print Library of the Newton Public Library by sending them to
