Lowell Edward "Eddie" Dodd Jr., 52, of Emporia, died on Tuesday (Aug. 16, 2011) in Emporia.

He was born on Oct. 8, 1958, in Newton to Lowell Edward Dodd Sr. and Lauma L. (Geis) Pagan.

Eddie graduated from Newton High School in 1976. He was an outdoorsman, and he loved to fish, camp and go water skiing. He also enjoyed flying remote control airplanes.

He is survived by parents, Lowell E. Dodd Sr. of Lawrence and Lauma Pagan (E.C.) of Emporia; brothers, Ricky Dodd (Lucinda) of Newton and Robbie Dodd (Christina) of Fort Worth, Texas; and sisters, Lorinda Hartzler (David) of Lawrence and LaVonna McAlister (Gary) of Lawrence.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Edna Geis.

A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Victory Fellowship Church, Road 190 and Road G in Emporia. Pastor Mike Stubbs will officiate.

Inurnment will be at the Alpine Cemetery.

Family suggests memorial contributions be made to the family and sent in care of Charter Funerals, 501 W. Sixth Ave., Emporia, KS 66801, for a Memorial Fund for Eddie Dodd.
