Dorothy Mryle (Trout) McClenning
Obituary
Dorothy Mryle (Trout) McClenning, 77, died at Kansas
Christian nursing home on Friday evening (Aug. 19, 2011), surrounded by members
of her beloved family following a battle with cancer.
She was born on Oct. 7, 1933. As the chosen daughter of
Glenn and Katie (Bruch) Trout, she grew up as an only child. She attended high
school in Independence. She married three times.
Throughout her life, she enjoyed sewing, crochet, fishing,
farming, gardening and preserving foods. She was an avid reader.
She moved to the Wichita area in 1991 to help her daughter,
Tammy, with her children while Tammy attended Wichita State University. She was
a longtime member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ, but in later years
became a member of the Mormon Church and finally of First Missionary Church in
Newton.
She had a contagious laugh, never met a stranger and made
friends easily. She will be sorrowfully missed on her journey over the rainbow
as she lands softly in heaven.
She is survived by all of her six children, Kathy (Fletcher)
Jayko, Steven D. Fletcher, Judith (Fletcher) Lindgren, Tammy (Cramer) Solomon,
Richard (Ricky) Cramer and Norma Jean (McClenning) Love; 22 grandchildren; and
35 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Glenn and Katie
(Bruch) Trout; her third husband, James (Bill) McClenning; a granddaughter,
Gabriella Solomon; a grandson, Christopher Lindgren; and two son-in-laws,
Gerald E. Lindgren and J.D. Solomon.
Memorial services will be at 4 p.m. today at First
Missionary Church.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to
First Missionary Church, Newton, KS 67114.
