Norma Louise Morse
Obituary
Norma Louise Morse, 81, of Newton, died on Wednesday (June
15, 2011) at the Presbyterian Manor Health Care in Newton.
She was born on March 25, 1930, in Grand Blanc, Mich., the
daughter of Chester and Viola Bedell Hargraves. After graduating from high
school, Norma attended the Moody Bible Institute in Chicago.
Norma moved to Newton in the early 1950s. She married Albert
S. Morse on March 19, 1955, at First Baptist Church in Newton.
She was the secretary at First Baptist Church for many
years. Norma also worked alongside her husband operating the Morse Photography
Studio and Insta-Print printing business until Albert died on April 6, 2007.
Norma and Albert loved to camp, making many trips to
Colorado, and they were avid supporters of the Wichita Zoo. She enjoyed sewing.
Survivors include her three sons, Larry A. Morse and his
wife, Debbie, of Newton, Alan D. Morse and his wife, Linda, of Loveland, Colo.,
and Roger Morse of Newton; six grandchildren, Brandon Morse, Erin Higgins, Alex
Morse, Cameron Morse, Jason Tipton and Emily Tipton; and one great-grandson,
Vincent Higgins.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. today at First Baptist
Church in Newton. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Newton.
