Robert W. Anderson, Jr.

Robert Anderson Jr., 69, died at the Hospice House in Hutchinson on Saturday (June 24, 2017).

He was born on June 13, 1948, in Hutchinson to Robert W. Anderson Sr. and Marianne (Aelmore) Anderson.  Robert was a graduate of Haven High School (1966) and Hutchinson Community College. He served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Germany during this time. He married Jolene R. Albright on June 4, 1971, in Haven. They were married for 46 years prior to his death.

Robert was a retired superintendent of Grede Foundries Inc. in Wichita. He was an outdoors person and enjoyed hiking and camping. He enjoyed being outside and took great pride in caring for the yard and all things of nature. He was a wonderful family man and deeply loved them. Robert was a former member of the Board of Education in Sedgwick and a member of the Sedgwick United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Jolene Anderson; children: Lisa Matson, Brian and Erika Anderson and Lori and Jack Kasney; two siblings: Bruce Anderson and Becky Kahmeyer; and eight grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents: Robert and Marianne Anderson.

A Memorial Service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday (June 28, 2017) at the Sedgwick United Methodist Church in Sedgwick. An inurnment will be held following the service at the Sedgwick Cemetery in rural Sedgwick. A family gathering and visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday (June 27, 2017) at the Sedgwick United Methodist Church. A memorial has been set up for the Sedgwick United Methodist Church and the American Heart Association.
