Obituary
Charlene Rae Novak, 74, died Wednesday
(June 7, 2017) at her home in Hesston. She was born Sept. 9, 1942, in
Republic County, the daughter of Clarence and Doris Walter
Kathrineberg. She was a graduate of Republic High School and had
taken some bookkeeping courses through Hutchinson Community College.
She was a bookkeeper and enjoyed sewing
and quilting. She was a member of Hesston United Methodist Church. On
June 5, 1960, she married Raymond Novak in Republic. He survives.
Other survivors include a son, Jeff
(Dawn) Novak of Smith Center; two daughters, Debra (Kent) Yoder of
Hesston and Becky (John) Strubhar of Hesston; a brother, Paul
Kathrineberg of Phoenix; 15 grandchildren; and 22
great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her
parents; her twin sister, Arlene Marty; a brother, Kenny
Kathrineberg; and a grandson, Lemuel Strubhar.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m.
Monday (June 12, 2017) at Hesston United Methodist Church, with
Pastor Keith Schadel presiding. Burial will follow at the Hesston
City Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday
(June 11, 2017) at Miller-Ott Funeral Home in Hesston.
Memorial contributions may be made to
the Hesston United Methodist Church or the Susan B. Komen Foundation,
both sent in care of the funeral home.
