Lucy Faye Bryant
Obituary
Lucy Faye Bryant, 88, died on Saturday (June 18, 2011) from
a head injury after a fall.
She was born to Wesley C. Maxwell and Minnie Leona Gee
(Cantrell) on April 26, 1923, in Athens, Texas. She married Ralph L. Bryant on
Aug. 18, 1947, in Dallas. He survives.
Lucy was a sales agent for more than 25 years in the Harvey
County area, working for Banker's Life and Casualty Insurance Co.
She also is survived by children, Darlene Manning (Mark) of
Lee's Summit, Mo., Michael L. Bryant (Monica) of Santa Rosa, Calif., and
Beverly Hoskins (Thomas) of Hesston; six grandchildren, Will Manning, Yvette
(David) Hatton, Tyler (Michelle) Bryant, Jody (Justin) Kahlich, Lisa (Brian)
Bolin and Andy Hoskins; eight great-grandchildren, Eve Manning, Jordan,
Charlotte and Wyatt Bolin, Ethan "Maxwell" and Samantha Bryant,
Beatrix Hatton and Alice Kahlich; and one sister, Bobbie Schlitzkus of Carey,
N.C.
Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday,
Sunday and Monday at Elliott Mortuary, 1219 Main St. in Hutchinson.
A remembrance service will be at 7 p.m. Monday at Elliott
Mortuary. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Community Church of the
Brethren, 1600 N. Severance St. in Hutchinson. Burial will follow at
Penwell-Gabel Cemetery (a.k.a. Rayl's Hill), 5905 W. Fourth St. in Hutchinson.
Memorials may be designated to the Community Church of the
Brethren, where Lucy was a life-long member, or Hutchinson Hospice House, in
care of Elliott Mortuary. Lucy volunteered as a receptionist at the Hospice
House until health prevented.
