Obituary
Wayne L. Hall, 89, retired heat treater for Boeing Aircraft
died on Sunday (Sept. 4, 2011) at Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice at Via Christi
in Wichita.
He was born on March 24, 1922, at Ripley, Miss., to Robert
Ellis and Myrtle Irene (Clark) Hall.
He was a World War II U.S. Army veteran, serving under
General Patton.
A Sedgwick-area resident for 54 years, he was a member of
First United Methodist Church in Halstead, the Masonic Lodge, the 32nd Degree
Consistory, Shriners, the American Legion and was a life member of the V.F.W.
On Jan. 24, 1942, he married Dorothy C. Lindsey at Ripley.
She survives.
Other survivors include sons, Bobby (Bonnie) Hall of
Annapolis, Md., and Charles (Rita) Hall of Maryland Heights, Mo.; daughters,
Brenda Fields, Carolyn (Walter) Fowler of Bentley, and Anita (Carl) Wenke of
Lees Summit, Mo.; brothers, Carlton (Alice) Hall and Andrew (Martha) Hall of
Jackson, Miss.; sisters, Helon Cook, Faye Stanford and Priscilla (Wayne)
Goolsby of Ripley, Miss., and Robbie Roberts of New Albany, Miss.; 10
grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded by a brother, Robert Hall; and a sister,
Leone Stanford.
Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Kaufman
Funeral Home in Halstead, with the family receiving friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at First
United Methodist Church in Halstead. The Rev. Jane Voelkle will officiate.
Burial will follow at Pleasant Valley Cemetery in Bentley.
Memorials may be given to First United Methodist Church, or
Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice, in care of Kaufman Funeral Home.
