Obituary

Paul J. Taylor, 78, died Saturday, July 1, 2017, in Newton, Kansas. 

He was born November 21, 1938, in Sylvania, Ohio, to Harley D. and Bernice (Cherry) Taylor. On December 14, 1962 he married Kit Lee Becker at Blissfield, Michigan, and she preceded him in death on April 19, 2013.  Paul served his country in the US Army from 1958 to 1961. He was retired as a lineman for the Toledo Edison Electric Company. Paul enjoyed spending time in his yard and doing yardwork and mowing. He relaxed watching criminal shows, mysteries and war movies on television. Paul's greatest joy was his family and he looked forward to spending time with his loving family and friends.

He is survived by his sons: Paul J. Taylor Jr. and Barbara Copp of Newmarket, New Hampshire, and Troy M. Martz of Tipton, Michigan; daughter Katherine (Taylor) DeMille and Dennis L. DeMille Jr. of Corpus Christi, Texas; sisters: Marilyn (Taylor-Davoll) Pinkleman of Sylvania, Ohio, and Sue Nichols of Evanston, Wyoming. He is also survived by four grandaughters and four great-grandsons. Paul was preceded in death by his parents, son David W. Taylor and grandson Dennis L. DeMille III.

Visitation will be 11:00 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. at the chapel.  Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 4, 2017, at Petersen Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Clint McBroom presiding. Burial will be in the St. Mary's Cemetery, Newton.
