James Fein
Obituary
James W. Fein, 97, died July 4, 2017,
at his residence in Lenexa.
He was born July 28, 1919, at Rich
Hill, Missouri, to George W. and Eleanora M. (Flammang) Fein.
A U.S. Marine during World War II,
James saw action on Okinawa and served during the occupation of
Japan.
He was a longtime Halstead area
resident prior to his move to Lenexa to be closer to family.
He farmed in the Halstead area and was
a tool inspector for Boeing.
He was a member of Sacred Heart
Catholic Church, Ruth-Wilson American Legion Post 231 and Halstead
Historical Society, all of Halstead.
On Sept. 24, 1946, he married Maxine G.
Ryan at Halstead; she preceded him in death July 17, 2010.
He is survived by a son: Joe (Gail)
Fein, Lenexa; grandchildren: Sandra (Brad) Heinrichs, Kathy (Brian)
Hughes and Steve (Monika) Fein; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by a
sister, Louise Wimmer.
Mass of the Christian Burial will be
10:30 a.m. Tuesday (July 18, 2017) at Sacred Heart Catholic Church,
Halstead, with Father Jeffery Fasching officiating. Burial will
follow at Halstead Cemetery.
Memorials may be given to Halstead
Historical Society in care of Kaufman Funeral Home, Halstead.
