Obituary
Janice Eileen Lee, 76, died Saturday
(July 8, 2017). She was born May 24, 1941, in Newton, the daughter of
Arnold and Eileen (Unruh) Spore.
Janice grew up in Newton and on a farm
in rural Halstead. She was a graduate of both Halstead High School
and Wichita Business College. Following her marriage to Robert, she
worked in the Harvey County Clerk's Office until the birth of their
son. She then was a stay-at-home mom until both boys were in school.
Janice worked for a time in the Haven
Journal Office and at a Haven nursing home. For 22 years, she worked
with the Reno County Educational Cooperative in Hutchinson as a
paraprofessional for the gifted, and was a media specialist in the
RCEC Office. Her love of life included grandchildren's activities,
many paintings, flower gardening, live concerts and the daily
cryptogram.
On Sept. 15, 1962, she married Robert
Eugene Lee in Halstead.
Survivors include husband, Robert of
Hutchinson; two sons, Robert III and wife Kim of Pratt and Richard
and wife Julie of Wichita; five grandchildren, Ashton, Blake and
Carson of Pratt and Manon and Kyndal of Wichita; sister, Sharon Spore
Pepper of Wichita; brother, Byron Spore and wife Dee of Newton; and
sister-in-law, Jeanette Emert of Newton and her son Bill.
Memorial service will be 10:30 a.m.
Friday (July 14, 2017) at Trinity United Methodist Church, 1602 N.
Main, Hutchinson, with the Reverend Dr. Kim Biery presiding. Friends
may sign the register book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday (July 12,
2017) and Thursday (July 13, 2017), with the family present from 6 to
8 p.m. Thursday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson.
