Jewell E. Mundell
Jewell E. Mundell, 94, of Newton,
former teacher in Illinois for 35 years, died Friday (April 21, 2000)
at Kansas Christian Home in Newton. She was born June 8, 1905, in
McClure, Ill., to Arthur D. and Margarite Ellen (Miller) Sams. She
married Kenny D. Mundell Dec. 28, 1945, in Illinois. He preceded her
in death Dec. 4, 1997. She was a member of a Baptist church in
Illinois. She was a graduate of Southern Illinois College. She moved
to Newton from Wichita in 1988.
Survivors include a sister-in-law, Iona
Rose of Newton; one nephew; and one niece. She also was preceded in
death by one brother, Miller Sams; and one sister, LucilleVick.
Graveside services and burial will be
10 a. m. Tuesday at Which Park Cemetery with Chaplain Carolyn Schwarz
from Kansas Christian Home officiating.
Friends may call until 9 p. m. today at
Petersen Funeral Home.
Memorials have been established with
Kansas Christian Home Fellowship of John in care of the funeral home.
