William Howard Tipton Sr.
Obituary
William Howard Tipton Sr., 64, died on Thursday (Nov. 3,
2011) at his home in Hutchinson.
He was born on Feb. 19, 1947, the son of Everett L. Tipton
Sr. and Jean Faye Perryman Tipton. He graduated from Newton High School in 1965
and then enlisted in the Navy, serving in Vietnam. He retired as a cook for
Bernard's Restaurant and was a member of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church.
On Aug. 10, 2007, he married Christie G. Stuart in
Hutchinson. She survives.
Other survivors include: five children, William H. Tipton
Jr. of Olathe, Ricky R. Tipton of Hutchinson, Jeffrey Tipton and Denise Carter,
both of Newton, and Jade Blakey of Hutchinson; stepchildren, Courtney Stuart,
Chauncey Stuart, Charity Stuart and Kaleaha Blakey, all of Hutchinson;
siblings, Carol Johnson of Wichita, Elaine Brashears and Melvin Tipton Jr.,
both of Hutchinson, Mary Alice Jackson of Pensicola, Fla., Michael W. Tipton of
Hutchinson, and Michelle K. Johnson of Hesston; many grandchildren,
great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; and his ever-present companion, Dingo.
Cremation has taken place.
Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today and
Sunday at Elliott Mortuary in Hutchinson.
Memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Macedonia
Missionary Baptist Church. The Rev. William J. Green Sr. will preside. Burial
will be at Eastside Cemetery.
